The only Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (MROSD) preserve with a designated off-leash area — 17.5 acres in the centre of this 366-acre preserve, reached from the Cordilleras, Polly Geraci/Hassler and Blue Oak trails. Dogs must be on a 6-foot leash on every other trail here. Rolling hills with grasslands and oak trees, less crowded than many Bay Area dog spots.

Dogs must be leashed near the Crystal Springs Reservoir boundary area. The preserve spans 750 acres of oak woodland and chaparral near Redwood City.
