Famous Marin coastal town. The main NPS-managed Stinson Beach (1.2 miles of prime sand) does NOT allow dogs year-round. Dogs ARE allowed on-leash (6-foot max) at the adjacent Upton Beach (north end) per Marin County Parks, and along the Seadrift/Bolinas Lagoon walk.

Mixed by jurisdiction: NPS-managed Stinson Beach (south of the lagoon bridge) prohibits dogs entirely year-round. Marin County-managed Upton Beach (north section, accessed from Upton Beach Road) allows dogs on a 6-foot leash at all times. The Bolinas Lagoon shoreline walk also allows leashed dogs.

Only on Upton Beach, the small county-managed beach at the north end of town, where dogs must be on a 6-foot leash. The main Stinson Beach (managed by the National Park Service / GGNRA) does NOT allow dogs. The NPS beach is approximately 1.2 miles of prime sandy beach where dogs are prohibited year-round.
